Year of fundraising brings in Pounds 15k

THE former Mayor of Gedling, Councillor Suzanne Prew-Smith, is to present a cheque for more than Pounds 15,000 to charity at the Civic Centre, in Arnot Hill Park, Arnold, tonight.
During Mrs Prew-Smith’s year in office she raised the money for Notts Leukaemia Appeal Supporting Myeloma, based at Nottingham City Hospital, through a series of fundraising activities.
They included the Festival of Remembrance Concert, a golf day and two fashion shows.
The Christmas Motorbike Toy Run and a Christmas cookery demonstration, jointly organised with New College Nottingham and the Lace Market Hotel, also raised cash.
The money will be used to buy equipment for patients.
